So you've probably landed on this page because you wanted to build a list or perhaps wanted to learn how to make money with list building?
Well, you're honestly on the RIGHT page, because in this blog, I'm gonna share with you exactly how to do that. In this blog, I'm gonna share with you all my secrets and tricks to building a big responsive list and how to monetize from that list. And I'm gonna do this all for free.
Why? Well its a long story and I shall not bore you with it but you probably know me and my products. In fact, I'm a pretty famous Internet Marketer. BUT, I'm not using my real identity here.
Anyways, let's stick to the topic on hand shall we?
The first step to building your opt in list:
The #1 step you need to do is to not try to build a huge list.
"What!! Hey Mr. List Building Guy, are you bonkers? Everyone knows that the way to riches is to build a super big list right??"
Well I'm not surprised you think this way, after all that's what all the gurus teach isn't it?
They teach you to quickly and rapidly build a huge list and retire on income generated from that list.
Here's a quick reality check for you: IT DOESN'T WORK!!
The reality is, guys with huge lists often have very very poor results with click through rates and open rates on their emails because most of the leads on their lists are unresponsive! There's 2 reasons:
1) Their leads are crap.
2) They've been promoting the shi*t outta their list so much so that they are unresponsive.
Instead of going for the big list, all my list building strategies revolve around getting tiny but super targeted lists.
Lists that I look after, care and nurture...(that's another lesson for another day)
But today, I want to reveal the logic behind building small but targeted lists and why they are so bloody profitable:
Well, you might not believe it but I got the income I had above from a puny list of just 3000 people...Puny it might be but its uber profitable by virtue of them being very very targeted!
Think about it for a sec, how many people's squeeze page are really targeted? Are they going for the main general population or a specific niche?
A main general squeeze page will probably scream at you: "Would you like to make $500 within 2 days?" since most people in IM want to make money online (duhh) they would sign up because it is, well, general.
But what happens after that? They promote this and that and this and that. PPC, PPV, SEO, Mobile Marketing...basically anything that can make a quick buck for them!
I'm not saying this isn't profitable but it sure isn't sustainable.
On the other hand, if I've targeted a specific audience, I would have a squeeze page with something like "Would you like to see the case study of me making $200 in a week simply by placing ads on Facebook?"
This is a much more specific call to action and on this list, I would ONLY ever promote products that are related to Facebook marketing and send content related to it.
The end result is this: Less people get 'burnt' and unsubscribe. By virtue of my targeted marketing, all my related promos to this niche list is gonna get sky high - and I don't just send promos after promos. I send good content as well.
(By the way, the above 'headlines' are totally poor headlines, I wouldn't recommend you use those headlines at all, more on that in my next few posts)
So can you see which is the winner?
Start thinking about how you can build your list in a more targeted fashion and think more like a smart marketer - not a marketer that copies what everyone else is doing.
At the end of the day, what really matters isn't about bragging whose list size is bigger - it is about who is making more money from their list building efforts. Besides, targeted list building cost less money, requires less effort but make more money in the long run, how cool is that??
Targeted specific traffic beats large scattered unspecific traffic all day long.
